Abstract

n recent years, there has been an increase in the intensity of transit traffic on the roads of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The conducted research shows that these factors are one of the main causes of road accidents on republican highways, along with the deterioration of road conditions. However, accounting and analysis of accidents in traffic police units and road maintenance services are often carried out only visually. The operational and technical condition of roads is recorded in the existing accident records quite formally, which leads to the fact that data on accidents caused by road conditions account for no more than 25% of the total number of accidents, despite the fact that we regularly observe spontaneous traffic incidents on the roads.
