Abstract

Abstract. The problems of wastewater treatment are particularly important and urgent due to the constant increase in water consumption and increased requirements for water treatment quality.       The main objects of drainage systems are designed for a long period of operation, during which the initial conditions of their functioning naturally change. The deterioration of the environmental situation requires a change in the degree of wastewater treatment. The problem of wastewater treatment is becoming more and more serious, since most treatment facilities are not able to provide the required treatment effect in accordance with existing standards.

Often, sedimentation tanks are used to separate heterogeneous systems. However, this method of treating municipal wastewater in modern conditions is often ineffective and is used in the preliminary stages of liquid treatment. To increase efficiency several times, settling tanks with thin-layer blocks (modules) in the form of special separation plates and pipes are used. Their relatively small depth allows you to clarify the liquid in 4-10 minutes of its presence in the working zone. At the same time, the dimensions of the units are much lower than those of sedimentation tanks of other structures. The simple design and available materials make it possible to produce this type of settling tanks in any production.

Thus, the relevance of the topic is to expand the field of application of thin-layer settling to increase the efficiency of urban wastewater treatment, in order to eliminate the negative impact on water bodies.

The purpose of the work is to determine the optimal parameters of thin-layer modules for intensifying the work of sumps during the treatment of urban wastewater.

The studies used theoretical and experimental methods, comprehensive analysis, a systematic approach, a method of selective observations, a method of comparison and grouping.

Based on laboratory studies using special installations modeled by the type of operation of thin-layer tubular blocks for effective settling, their optimal parameters are determined.

The practical significance of the work lies in the fact that the proposed parameters of thin-layer modules can be used to increase the efficiency of waste water treatment processes both during the reconstruction of existing settling tanks and during the construction of new structures. The theoretical significance of the obtained results lies in the study of the foundations of thin-layer settling for intensification of wastewater treatment processes.
