INFLUENCE OF FREEZING DEPTH ON THE COMPOSITION OF ROAD LAYERS

Abstract

The relevance of the study is conditioned by the presence of a pronounced relationship between the depth of soil freezing and the composition of the road layers, which is essential from the standpoint of road safety compliance. The purpose of this study lies in the theoretical and practical identification of such a correlation in terms of the influence of the soil freezing depth under the roadbed on the final composition of its layers. The leading approach in this study is a combination of a system analysis of the problems of the soil freezing depth influence in places where a highway is being built on the composition of its layers, with an analytical study of the features of soil freezing in certain regions that can cause significant problems when moving motor transport.
