Abstract

The article presents the results of various studies, they found it possible to do research on improving the method of slope positioning, considering that this method, compared with others, is simple, economically advantageous, does not require complex equipment and technologies, etc. The development of this method based on factors affecting the stability of the slope, of course, finds its wide use in the construction of bulk structures for various purposes.

Therefore, we believe that a slope erected under a reasonable and confirmed calculated steepness will have sufficient resistance to external, especially seismic influences. As noted above, the use of this method avoids unnecessary mechanisms and does not require new construction technologies, etc. Contrary to the opinion of some experts about increasing the volume of the object when the slope is positioned, it seems to us that achieving the stability of the object in relation to the expected impacts not only compensates, but also justifies its long-term and impeccable service. The structures erected by the proposed method (road embankments, dams, edge supports of bridges, etc.) are earthquake resistant, because the soils in them will be resistant to the expected shocks.

The external factor is: the load on the slope surface and the dynamic impact (amplitude, frequency, period, duration of shaking, etc.). The stability of the slope steepness is also affected by: the height of the slope, the method of its construction, as well as the liquefaction of the soil that occurs under the influence of strong shocks. Taking into account all these factors allowed the authors to propose a computational method for assessing the seismic resistance of the slope slope structures. Comparison of the calculation data with the results of experimental studies showed good convergence.
