Abstract

Abstract. Certification of engineering personnel is one of the main methods of ensuring the quality of engineering activities. The article proposes an approach to the implementation of the educational process that allows engineers to meet international certification criteria. This approach consists in changing the format of teaching the discipline "Introduction to Engineering Education", which consists in developing not only engineering competencies, but also other skills in accordance with the principles of the International CDIO Initiative. The proposed approach can be used for implementation in educational programs for training students of technical universities. Certification of engineering personnel is a necessity, which makes it possible to standardize requirements, provide an independent evaluation mechanism, increase the competitiveness of certified persons in the labor market, and guarantee the quality and safety of work and services for consumers. The authors reviewed the experience of advanced countries in this area. It is proposed to introduce the best experience in the field of personnel certification in Kazakhstan. The authors of the article formulated special criteria that determine the degree of compliance of engineering specialists with international requirements. It is proposed to introduce a training methodology in which the compliance of engineering personnel with these requirements will be laid down already at the stage of training in technical universities. It is difficult to improve terminology issues, clarify the level of qualification, compile a list of functional responsibilities, identify a number of positions, and career development issues. To implement CDIO standards, it is necessary to reform the vocational education system as a whole: variability in terms and conditions of training, revision of the content of disciplines, establishing relationships with related industries, achieving planned learning outcomes, introducing problem analysis, algorithms for developing solutions, research methods, engineering ethics, mastering individual and team work methods, communication techniques, project management.
