Abstract

Abstract. Fuzzy logic based on fuzzy set theory provides a rich and meaningful addition to standard logic. In this article, we develop a fuzzy model for assessing students' knowledge and skills. In this model, the assessed characteristics of students (performance in subjects, the ability to solve problems in critical situations) are presented as fuzzy subsets by a set of linguistic labels that characterize their performance, as well as the ability to calculate all student profiles. Thus, the performance of a detailed quantitative and qualitative study of a group of students is obtained. As defuzzification methods in converting our fuzzy output data to a crisp number, the centroid (center of gravity) method is used. According to the centroid method, the graph uses the coordinates of the center of gravity where the function is activated, which provides a scale for student achievement. We also study methods for assessing the individual abilities of students and provide examples that are presented to illustrate the use of our results in practice.
